Training Services Terms & Conditions

Dog Trainer Phili laughs whilst playing with pale Labrador

Thank you for choosing to use my services. By making a booking for services you are deemed to agree to these terms and conditions (the Terms and Conditions).

About me

I, Phili Webb, am a sole trader working under the business name Green Paw Sustainable Dog Training ("Green Paw")

The Terms of Use for our Site (“Website Terms & Conditions”) and our Terms & Conditions of Sale can be found on separate pages.

Techniques and Handling Methods

The training techniques and behaviour modification methods that I use are designed to be kind, fair, force-free and non-aversive. Harsh handling of dogs, physical force and the use of punitive methods/ punishment/ corrections or equipment designed to be aversive (including choke chains, check chains, prong collars, spray collars, e-collars or any other device that I deem to be unacceptable) are not to be used.

Provision of Equipment and Information

Home Training will be sent within two working days of any practical programme session or class, except in extenuating circumstances. These circumstances will be communicated as soon as feasible.
Training Support Plans will be sent within four working days, except in extenuating circumstances as above.

Any loaned equipment across Training and Class Services must be returned on request, or at the next face-to-face contact. If an item has been destroyed due to lack of due diligence, a replacement or the full cost of replacing the item is required.

Payment, Refunds and Cancellations

Single Sessions

For 'Initial Support Visits' or 'Follow-up Visits', 100% payment is due on confirmation of booking. Where this is converted to a Training Programme, this fee is subtracted from the first Programme invoice or via a personalised discount code.

Programmes

For fixed-term programmes, 'Roots  ' and 'Shoots  ', 100% payment is due on confirmation of booking. For those requiring split payments, this can be split into a maximum of two payments at Green Paw's discretion.

Additional sessions to be paid in advance in blocks of 1-4 as agreed at the 'post-programme' price detailed in your 'Completion of service' email.

For the subscription-based service, 'Bearing Fruits  ', £189 per calendar month will be automatically taken on the same date each month, based on the day of your first payment. (e.g. If you sign up on the 5th, payments will be taken on the 5th of each month). You can request a different payment date at sign-up.

Subscription Details

The 'Bearing Fruits  ' subscription provides ongoing support for you and your dog with:
Four practical training sessions per month
Phone support (Whatsapp/text) throughout your subscription - subject to the reasonable usage detailed below
✔ A monthly treat bag (minimum 80g of mixed treats)
(Full details on what's included can be viewed at https://www.greenpaw.org.uk/programme-info)

  • Minimum Commitment: 3 months
  • Ongoing Support: After your last training session, you’ll receive phone support for three more months.
  • Concluding Your Subscription: When training aims have been achieved, we will discuss the last training date and either party will provide written notice (email, text, or WhatsApp) to confirm this conclusion. This must be at least 5 working days before your next payment to avoid further charges.
  • Outstanding Sessions: If you cancel with sessions remaining, they will be honoured at a rate of 4 sessions per fully paid month (e.g. 5 months paid = 20 sessions available).
  • Refund Option: If you prefer a pro-rated refund instead of using remaining sessions, see the cancellation terms below.
  • If More Sessions Have Been Used: If you’ve had more than the number of sessions covered by your payments, we’ll invoice you at £47.50 per extra session, payable within 10 working days.

Why Your Session Balance May Vary

  • Some months may include extra or fewer sessions due to:
    • Calendar differences (e.g. 5 Thursdays in a month)
    • Cancellations due to illness or holidays (see cancellation terms)
  • Taking a Payment Break: If you accumulate four sessions in credit, you can request to pause payments for a month while using your credit.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel your package at any time after your purchase (including if you are part-way through a multi-session package), you will be refunded based on a calculation of the proportion of allocated practical sessions already used, less the incurred payment processing costs (between 1.4 - 2.9% + 20p - dependant on processor and card-type used) and an admin charge of £12.50.

Cancellations, re-arranged bookings and refunds in circumstances outside the statutory 14 day cancellation period are subject to the following conditions:

  • more than 72 hours' notice = full refund (less payment processing costs) or free to re-arrange session at no extra cost
  • less than 72 hours' notice = no refund for cancellations or re-arranged sessions

Cases where you have not arranged access to your dog for the agreed appointment will be considered cancellation with less than 72 hours' notice.

In the event that I have to cancel a session with you due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness/ emergency, I will make every effort to reschedule your session to another mutually convenient time. If this is not possible, I will refund you for the cost of that particular session.

You will not have the right to cancel a contract where the services (in terms of the time spent travelling to sessions, working with you in person or online) have been fully performed.

Reasonable Usage

WhatsApp/Text support for all programmes is limited to 15 questions per month or 2 x 15-minute phone calls per month, plus the video analysis ('Follow-up video support') detailed at Green Paw Programme Info. This ensures fair and effective support for all clients. If you need additional guidance, we can discuss booking a session for more in-depth assistance.

Health, Vaccinations & Injury

All dogs and puppies should be suitably protected from the potential risk of disease, as well as being appropriately treated for internal and external parasites.  We advise that owners should consult their veterinary professional with regard to such issues.  There can be no guarantee that there is absolutely no risk of disease at any venue or when in contact with any other dogs or materials, such as toys, which may have been in contact with other dogs.  It is the owner/ handler’s responsibility to ensure that their dog is appropriately protected against the risk of disease: Green Paw accepts no responsibility for the potential or actual exposure of dogs to disease.  If an owner chooses not to routinely vaccinate their dog/ puppy (for example because they are choosing titre testing or using homeopathic nosodes), this is entirely the choice of the owner and is a decision made at their own risk. In addition, we advise you ensure your dog has not eaten in the hour before  any exercise or play to ensure sufficient time to digest food. Failure to do so may result in the potentially life-threatening condition Bloat (Gastric Torsion).

During the course of normal play any dog may sustain injuries. Green Paw offer services where dogs co-mingle and although this activity is carefully monitored to avoid injury; scratches, punctures, torn ligaments, or other injuries may occur despite the best supervision. In these cases, you are responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries or illness that your incurs during the delivery of a service , together with any associated costs e.g. call-out charges. Exception only in cases where due diligence has not been followed.

You authorise Phili Webb to seek such veterinary advice and/or treatment as she deems necessary; where possible this will be carried out by your usual/preferred Vet, but this cannot be guaranteed (e.g. in an emergency). You agree to pay all such costs immediately upon pick-up of your dog, or by agreement with the Veterinary Surgery. Green Paw will take all reasonable steps to contact you prior to delivery of treatment except where life is at risk.

You agree to notify Green Paw immediately of any unwelcome, aggressive, procreative, or dangerous behaviour of your dog that has potential to cause harm to any other dog or individual.

By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you are accepting full responsibility for the protection of your dog from the risk of disease or injury. Please advise me in advance of the session if your dog has been in contact with another dog infected by a contagious disease or if they appear to be unwell (eg. vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, runny nose etc) or if any bitch has come into season.  Depending on the issue, it may be advisable for the session to be cancelled or re-arranged (see Refunds and Cancellations).  If your dog has any known allergies or intolerances to certain foods or has any other special needs, it is your responsibility to bring this to the attention of the trainer prior to the start of the session, and provide appropriate alternative treats etc.

Engagement and Commitment

By consulting with Green Paw with regard to your dog’s training, you agree to fully engage with the process to the best of your ability and understand that any changes will involve commitment and consistency. It is not possible (or ethical) for me to guarantee a specific outcome in terms of your dog’s behaviour.

You understand that instances where Phili Webb directly handles your dog they will respond to her, and that your dog may not initially respond as reliably to you.

To ensure your dog’s response to you, you agree:

  • To ensure understanding and to apply the basic principles of training as described and demonstrated in any Private Tuition or Owner Inputs
  • To use the cues (commands) supplied by Phili Webb
  • To source and use equipment essential for the behaviour, as advised by Phili Webb
  • To practice with the dog daily (absolute minimum 5-minutes a day, 5+ days a week; ideally 15-minutes+ day)
  • To integrate training into daily life (as described by Phili Webb and in the issued write ups) to support behaviour goals
  • To follow training and management advice as given by Phili Webb

Privacy and Marketing

Photographs of your dog may be taken.  Such photos may be used by us for record keeping and/ or marketing purposes. Your dog's real name will not be used alongside their image.  If you do not wish for photographs of you and/ or your dog to be taken, used or shared, please just let us know.  Any written feedback (eg. by email or on feedback forms) may be used for marketing purposes (for example, posted on the website).  Only the first name of the person will be used as identification.  If you are not happy for us to use your feedback in this way, please just let us know.  Permission must be granted by us before any photography or videography of training/ behaviour sessions with us takes place.  You can view our full privacy policy by clicking on the link available in the footer of our website or we are happy to provide a copy on request.

Disclaimers, Security and Waiver of Liability

You understand that working with dogs and modifying behaviour poses a risk of injury. You agree to ensuring that necessary steps are taken at all times to prevent injury to yourself, your dog(s) and others, including the use of a muzzle and avoidance of situations that might trigger behaviour. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Phili Webb against any and all losses, liabilities, judgments, awards and costs (including legal fees and expenses) arising out of, or related to, any claim of injury to persons or property of any kind, whether before, during or after the consultation and when implementing suggested techniques with your dog(s).  You understand and accept that your dog (and its behaviour) remains entirely your responsibility at all times, whether or not in the presence of Phili Webb.

You understand that services which require a dog to be off lead, including Recall programmes and off-lead walking where agreed, pose a risk to your dog and/or other parties due to your dog's behaviour. Green Paw agrees to exercise all reasonable and due care to prevent injury or death to your dog when walking off the lead – however in the event of injury/death except those caused by reckless acts on the part of Green Paw, Green Paw will not be held liable for such injury/death of any dog as a result of off lead walking. You agree to release Green Paw from all liability should your dog become lost, injured or otherwise harmed which may result from your dog being walked off the lead.

Green Paw warrants to keep safe and confidential all keys, remote control entry devices, access codes and personal information and to return same to you at the end of the delivered services or immediately upon demand. You agree that Green Paw is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged leads, collars, tags, clothing or any other item left with your dog, and you agree to indemnify Green Paw in full against any liability arising from loss or damage to your house/property or its contents, in present and future circumstances. Exception only in cases where due diligence has not been followed.

Referral Benefits

Referral benefits are available to:
✔ Clients who have completed a fixed-term programme ('Roots' or 'Shoots')
✔ Clients who have been subscribed to 'Bearing Fruits' for at least two months

If you refer someone to any of my one-to-one programmes, they will receive 5% off their first programme. As a thank you, you will receive 5% off all future Training Services!

How It Works

  • Your referral must inform me during or after their Initial Support Visit and before they complete payment for their first programme.
  • This allows me to issue them a discount code.
  • If they do not notify me in time, the 5% discount will instead be applied as credit towards an additional session—it will not be refunded.
  • This does not affect your referrer benefit.

Referral Benefits Activation

Your referral benefit will activate 14 days after the referred person has:
✔ Paid in full for a fixed-term programme or
✔ Paid for their first month of the 'Bearing Fruits' subscription

Important Notes

  • The 5% discount on future Training Services applies only to the referrer (i.e. the person who made the referral).
  • If your discount code is used by someone else, they will be invoiced for the additional 5% owed, which must be paid before services can commence.
  • Referral benefits apply only to Dog or Puppy Training Services and cannot be transferred to other Green Paw services.

All Clients booking Training Services from 28th April 2023 onwards are deemed to agree to these terms and conditions (the Terms and Conditions). No variation of these Terms and Conditions will have effect unless confirmed by Green Paw in writing.

These terms and conditions were updated 21/03/2025 to increase the clarity between 'fixed-term' programmes' and subscription-based programmes' payment terms, reduce the admin charge from £25 to £12.50, and to simplify the 'Referral Benefits' language.
